How is the BASED Hair Clay different from traditional hair clays?
Most clays use heavy petroleum bases, chalky fillers, or fake matte agents that dry your hair out. BASED Hair clay is oil-based, performance-driven, and built with ingredients your hair will actually benefit from. Zero shortcuts, zero compromises.
Who is this best for?
BASED Hair Clay is ideal for short to medium-length hair that needs strong hold, matte finish, and textured separation. Best for thick, straight, or wavy hair—it’s not ideal for long or very curly hair.
How much hold does it give?
Expect a strong, all-day hold with natural texture and no overly stiff feel. Unlike gels or cheap clays that flake, ours stays flexible and touchable.
Will it make my hair look greasy or heavy?
No. Even though it’s oil-based, the formula is designed to deliver a matte finish without buildup or excess shine. You get control and separation—without the shine.
Does it wash out easily?
Yes. It’s oil-based but non-greasy, and rinses clean with shampoo—no scrubbing, no residue.
Will it damage or dry out my hair over time?
Never. We use nourishing natural oils, waxes, and botanical extracts that actually condition while you style. Unlike others, we never use any drying alcohols, cheap fillers or harsh synthetics.
Is it scented or perfumed?
It’s lightly scented with our naturally-derived fan-favorite scent – Santal Sandalwood. Masculine, clean and addictive. BASED will never use harmful synthetic fragrances that cause irritation.
